Learning Objectives:

Students will be able to:

  • Create simulation examples using FreeCAD
  • Use DualSPHysics with GUI and via scripts
  • use PreonLab
  • Identify and evaluate possibilities and limitations of SPH
  • Simulate standard flow problems and flows with free surfaces

Course Content:

  • Introduction to Linux and to SPH
  • Geometry creation via FreeCAD
  • Simulation and analysis of floating objects
  • Channel flow and comparison with grid methods
  • Free surface flows
  • Film flows
  • Surface tension and contact angle
