On Monday, January 15, 2024, a tour of the Rhein-Hafen-Dampfkraftwerk (RDK) of EnBW in Karlsruhe took place as in the pre-corona period. This was offered by Prof. Bauer as part of the main subject "Thermal Turbomachinery" to give students and research assistants an insight into power generation in the ultra-modern Block 8 of the RDK. After a brief introduction to the EnBW company, the tour continued with a tour of the plant premises. The participants were taken through the boiler house, the turbine hall with turbines and generator and to the control room to gain an insight into the power plant and the technical implementation of the basic principles from the lecture.
