The ITS fan test bench is used to record the characteristic curves of centrifugal fans and record operating states in detail using optical flow measurement technology. In addition to characterizing the fan, it enables the visualization of velocity fields in the blade channel and in the scroll housing.
Possibilities
- Measurement of all characteristic fan parameters (pressure increase, volume flow, speed, temperature).
- Optical flow measurement technology (Particle Image Velocimetry, PIV) possible in several planes in the impeller and housing.
- A generic centrifugal fan is currently in operation:
- Type: Centrifugal fan with scroll housing
- Max. Max. speed: 1600 1/min
- Rotor diameter: 325 mm
- Number of blades: 9
Measurement technology & control
- Temperature sensors
- Pressure sensor
- Volume flow measurement via measuring orifice
- Torque measuring shaft
- "Low-speed laser
- Camera with different lenses
- Traverse control of the laser
- Data acquisition using LabView and Python
